August 6, 2015 All Day
The 2015 Shawano Golf Tournament was once again blessed with fabulous weather – great fellowship and everyone that participated enjoyed the day. This year we collected a little over $568 for the North Hastings Hospital Auxiliary. A very worth cause and our effort is much appreciated.
We had 47 golfers at the Bancroft Golf Course and a total of 53 people (golfers and their guests) for dinner back at the lake (hosted by Mike and Sue Stevens) Mike and Sue were assisted by Geoff Fry and France Latreille, as well as Susan’s personal assistant, Ava Roodbol (Kiberly and Kee’s daughter) who was right there helping with ssalads & desert making sure everyone had enough food. This year’s menu of steak, salad, and baked potatoes was very well received and appreciated by everyone.
The Winning foursome was Dan and Patti Norton with Fred and Lynn Andrews. Second place went to Don Snider and his guest, Kimberly Thiesson and Kees Roodbol. Colsest to the pin for ladies were Patti Norton and men’s Bill Rothwell. Longest drive ment’s was Kurtis Norton and ladies Judy McKian.
As a local lawmaker said, “Golf balls are humanity’s litter in the most inaccessible locations.” No one knows for sure how many golf balls are lost each year worldwide, though the total in the United States is estimated at 300 million.
